Every year, since 2004, we have gone to the Eudora, KS pumpkin patch called Schaakes. It has grown since then but has always been a fun, family oriented, and free place to visit. You are taken on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch where there are still acres and acres of vines, each with any number of pumpkins that are of a hundred different varieties. This time, after we had finished, we headed into the hay maze. Often we bring a picnic lunch, but we came earlier than usual this year, so we ate when we got home. It is the best pumpkin patch I've been to. This may have been our last year there because now it is an hour away, and because now there is another only about 5 minutes away, but that one isn't free. :-( So, we were relishing in the opportunity to complete our tradition on our tenth year.
