"In this crazy life, and through these crazy times..."

Well, we've had a couple of crazy weeks!  I guess it's to be expected when you're actually making a move, right? 

We were so ready, and expecting, to close on our new house April 28th.  That happens to be Nate's birthday and I thought it was pretty nice timing to make an epically huge gift!  Unfortunately our closing came and went without us actually signing papers.
We were told it would happen on the 30th instead.
But that didn't come to fruition either; perhaps May 5th.
No.  The 7th.
No,  actually you will be closing on the 8th.
And we finally did.

The crazy thing is that we would pack up the last remaining things that we live everyday in a frenzy trying to be out of our rental quickly only to find that we needed that stuff again.   So then we'd unpack only the bare necessities; then repeat.

Oh, yeah! And to add to the craziness, Nate and I thought it would be a good idea to have as much of our furniture ready as possible so we could move into the house and have furniture to match it, or some reason like that.  So, in the two weeks leading up to our actual move, we decided to strip our kitchen table and chairs and re-stain them, take apart some Cosco stools and refinish them, and repaint a bed that we found for Max (his bed has been plaguing him for ages (it is very rickety!).  

After we moved most of our things over (a week before we actually moved) we had supper of pizza and Gatorade.  Isn't that what everyone has as their first meal in their house?  It's payment to all the wonderful people who came to help us move.  Because of their help, we had a great assembly line for boxes and it went quite quickly!

We've been in our new house for about two weeks now, and are just finding those "everyday necessities" like flour, sugar, deodorant, toothbrushes; and the last day of school was Friday, and yep, we still have school books out.   I actually still haven't found the flour, sugar, etc. but finally broke down and bought some. 

Though it also added to the craze, the day of our suppose-ed move, we were so lucky to be at the baptism of our friends' kids, all five of them!  Their oldest has been waiting for 10 years to be baptized!  It was a very momentous occasion and well worth leaving the boxes and trucks for a while to spend that special time with them.  Aren't they a beautiful family?

 Since it was in our previous ward, or congregation, we were able to see so many wonderful friends.  Elise found one of her favorites and chatted for a long while. 

When it was finally, actually time to move, again we were blessed with lots of help for those last minute, lately used items.

 The Williamses let us borrow their truck.
