Camping

We finally did it: This being our third try at a spring camping adventure we finally made it, sort of, this past Friday night. We have tried to go camping once in the spring and once in the fall (I'm not much of the summertime camper unless I'm high in the mountains or somewhere not so hot) with our friends (The Edwards) for the past three years. We've done it in the fall, but this is our first time in the spring. The weather was perfect! This time we went to a lake near Tonganoxie, KS. Elise was sick with a terrible cough and a slight fever, which is where the "sort of" comes in. We went for the set up, the scenery and solitude; giving us a chance to eat the tin-foil dinners and banana boats. The kids practiced shooting with a sling shot, Max and the Edward's son did most of building the fire and found a nest in the whole of a tree. Elise and I left for home after the meal and Nate and Max stayed behind to sleep the night in the tent and canoe on the lake the next morning.
