We already had parent/teacher conferences and were able to take that day to go to a local farm near our house. The kids had a blast feeding the baby goats (who also loved to eat their shirts and my bag and just about anything). We went to a late-1800s school complete with a school-marm and Max even "got" to sit in the corner with the dunce cap on his head. We panned for gold, fed chickens, fish and turtles and pretended to milk cows. It was drizzling for most of the day, so it wasn't packed which made it all the better.

Looks like so much fun! I should take my kids to a place like that, next school day off.
