We had a pretty good garden this year; but our best crop was pumpkins (which did you know that there are specific pumpkins for pumpkin pie? and that it's pretty difficult to slice a jack-o-lanturn pumpkin in half to make pumpkin purree?). Anyway, here are 7 of the 12 pumpkins with Max's head:

And here is Elise's head with the pumpkins:

We didn't do pumpkins this year, I'm sad about that. Yours look great!
This was our first year to do them. We were pretty happy about how they turned out!
Fun, fun! Pumpkin time!
And you left a message on my blog about the background. I got it at http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/, but it looks like you figured it out. :)
Good crop! Pumpkins are such a cheery aspect of fall.
Last year our kids planted pumkin plants and there was a stupid beetle that killed them all despite our many efforts to save them. So this year we figured we'd just let other's grow them and then make it a family night tradition to go "pumpkin picking".
That is cool you harvested a good looking bunch...have fun pumpkin carving.
If you want a good puree for "pumpkin" pie, look for a recipe that uses butternut squash...it's easier to cut and work with and in my opinion, it tastes leaps above pumpkin pie.
