Elise sang a song in school about Hanukkah this year and wanted to light a menorah and eat latkes. So, we dug the candle sticks out of storage and for the eight nights, lit them in succession. I also tried my luck with latkes and brisket. The latkes were delicious (but it should be noted that once you make the batter, you should fry it all and not try to 'save it until the morning' - scary and gross!).
For years, on each Monday evening in December, Nate and I have been dipping chocolates or doing chocolate molds. This year however, we didn't make it on any Monday but finally kept with the tradition on Christmas Eve. Besides the chocolate dipped pretzels, we made People Puppy Chow and mint truffles - yum!
After church on Christmas day, I thought it was pretty fun that we all were kind of matching, so requested a picture. The first one is Nate pushing the timer and running over but being cut out of the frame; the one below is me trying to fix the frame to fit us all, running back in my heals and still laughing while trying to catch my breath. Kind of a goofy picture, but it was fun to do and very funny at the time!
